Journal 41; El Regalo: "thanks for the memories"

On May 17, 2012 we sold El Regalo in Brisbane, Australia. Following are a few cherished thoughts and memories experienced in our 5 years as cruisers:
Friendships: Arriving in every remote South Pacific island for the first time and running into old friends.
Fishing: Fiji. 33 Mahi, Wahoo & tunas
Volcano: Yasur volcano, Vanuatu
Panama Canal: A wonder to engineering; 98 years old and still doing its job.
French islands: Isle des Saints, Martinique,
Fr. Polynesia and New Caledonia
Ecuador bus trip: Amazing country.
Dramatic anchorage: Pitons, St. Lucia
Suwarrow: Dancing, crabbing, fishing, snorkeling; a cruisers paradise.
Longest passage: 17 days, 3,200 nautical miles, Galapagos/Marquesas Islands
Tramping (hiking) on the Kepler Track, South Island, New Zealand
Cool view: anchored with the Washington Monument in sight, Washington, D.C.
Isabella Island, Galapagos; nature on steroids.
Reconciliation: a week of atonement in Vanuatu for eating their first missionaries.
Lovo (BBQ) in a Fijian home with family, old friends and new friends.
Drinking kava well into the night with local boys aboard El Regalo, Fiji
French surgeons in New Caledonia.
